QUESTIONS ABOUT CANDLES
Why do you use Soy Wax?
Soy wax is a clean burning, renewable resource. It's all natural, non-toxic, and it can be easily cleaned with soap & warm water. The wax we use is also food grade, kosher, and hypo-allergenic. Soy wax is a much healthier alternative for you and the environment, it also burns slower than paraffin, resulting in a longer lasting candle.
How do I properly burn your Candles?
Here are some recommendations:
Burn your Candle from 3-4 hours each lighting, by doing so you will burn your candle to the edge of the glass creating a full pool of melted wax, soy wax has what is called a “memory”, if you only burn it for a little bit and then extinguish it, the next time you re light your candle it will burn as far as it did the last time, by doing this you create a tunneling effect, meaning your candle will not burn to the edge of the container.
Stop burning when 1/4" - 1/2" of the wax remains as this can be too hot since too little wax is left.
Always keep the wick centered & trimmed to 1/4" to prevent uneven burning & having a flame that is out of control.
Burn candles on a clean, flat surface so it won’t fall or tip over, out of direct sunlight and drafts and away from pets, flammable materials, like curtain and children.
Don’t burn candles for more than 4 or 5 hours as they can become too hot.
Always keep your eyes and check your candles, never leave unattended.
How long do candles usually last?
18 oz candles: 70+ hours burn time.
12 oz candle: 60 hours burn time.
9 oz candle = approx. 50 hours burn time.
Votives: 10 hours burn time.
These are approximate times when candles are used and cared for correctly.
Consider the size of the room you will be burning your candle in, a small hallway of petite bathroom would do well with a small votive, a larger room like a dinning room, living room or kitchen could definitely use a larger candle. Always use your own discretion and common sense.
When not in use:
If kept in a dry cool place they can last for up to a year, we recommend you burn them within that time frame as, essential oils and fragrances can become less strong
Do you only use 100% essential oils?
No, We use a combinations of essential oils and perfume grade oils, straight essentials have a lower flash point which will make a candle barely have any scent, the smell will evaporate rather quickly. All of our fragrances have been tested for safety and stability and work perfectly well with the temperature of a burning candle, another reason is consistency.
